Liberty is from God

The scriptural authority for this blog comes from -- 1 Timothy 2 vv. 1 through 4. "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."(RSV)
We pray for our government - that it may be pleasing to God. For God will destroy that government and society which displeases Him. In order to seek the welfare of our government, we must sometimes pray for it to change.
We are believers. We believe God created us for fellowship with Him and with each other. God's plan of creation included a plan of restoration of our fellowship. This plan occured when God joined humanity in the person of Jesus. Jesus is annointed for this role, thus he is called "Christ."
God allowed His Christ to be killed, as a perfect sacrifice to mankind's rotten ambition and to show God's great goodness. For God raised this man Jesus from death.
God has profound love for us.
With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation's wounds... to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.
